Well what a couple of weeks its been since my little jaunt in Skegness!

Plenty of work going on here though, with a multitude of new students at The Forum Music Centre, where I teach in Darlington, as well as some recording and other projects i’ve had going on.

But in the magnificent world of gig-land, i’ve had two lovely gigs in 2 weeks, with Pure Entertainment Group, which has been the first time i’ve worked with them, and i’ve got plenty more upcoming over the summer period.

So what of the gigs:

Well a couple weekends back I played with the magnificent Live in Technicolor Coldplay show, perfect excuse for an outdoor gig, a colourful piano, a really great crowd, and of course….a flowery drum kit!

Stage all set, with a rather flowery kit!

That turned into a really incredible gig, and a debut for the show, doing it outdoors really gave it a festival vibe with loads of life, and thanks to the British weather, a beautiful summer evening at Flamingo Land.

The immensely talented Jack Saxer up front, with Georgia on bass, Jason on guitar and me on kit (of course!)

Then another week, another gig! This time doing the Bein’ Adams show, again at Flamingo Land (though indoors!)

This was another debut show, and again an amazing gig. A really enjoyable set of tunes, with the big hits and a few choices from the vast Bryan Adams back catalogue.

Again gotta thank the fantastic Matt Wattz, who played a blinding set, and again a superb band line up, Jason again on guitar, and Shaun on bass. As well as the tech team at Flamingo Land for making it as smooth and fast a setup and tear down as possible.

So hard to describe the feeling of playing live again, its been a long time coming, but here we are now! My thanks must go to the great people at Pure Entertainment Group, and MD Tom at TJS Productions, i’ve got a fair few gigs upcoming, and hopefully many more as great as these two!
